BIC Bagger Ride In Door County, Wisconsin

Self-contained (bagger) biking tour of the Door County peninsula!

Riders will carry all their gear for camping, clothing, etc. No sag support! If riders would like to stay in a hotel or B&B, they need to make their own reservations. Costs on your own would include hotel for first night, camping fees per night, ferry trips, and food and beverages for the week (we'll eat at restaurants or other businesses along the way; will not be carrying equipment for cooking on our bikes).

  • Sun. Sept. 11, drive to Sturgeon Bay WI, and stay at Super 8 hotel - call the Super 8 at 920-743-9211 to reserve your room. A block of 10 rooms has been reserved for 'Bicyclists of Iowa City'. The room rate is $80 + tax. You must reserve your room before August 11, after which any remaining rooms will be released.
  • Day 1 (Mon. Sept. 12) - Sturgeon Bay to Carlsville campground (Harbour Village), 38 miles
    Highlights: Whitefish Dunes State Park, Cave Point County Park, Dairy View Country Store, Door Peninsula Winery
  • Day 2 (Tues. Sept 13) - Carlsville to Peninsula State Park campground, 40 miles
    Highlights: Egg Harbor, Baileys Harbor, Cana Island Lighthouse, Peninsula State Park
  • Day 3 (Wed. Sept. 14) - Fish Creek loop from Peninsula State Park, 40 miles
    Highlights: Fish Creek, Ephraim (Wilson's Restaurant & Ice Cream Parlor), Sister Bay, Ellison Bay
  • Day 4 (Thurs. Sept. 15) - Peninsula State Park to Rowleys Bay, 28 miles
    Highlights: Baileys Harbor, North Bay, Rowleys Bay
  • Day 5 (Fri. Sept 16) - Rowleys Bay to Ellison Bay to Gills Rock and ferry to Washington Island from Northport (20 miles round trip) + tour of Washington Island (mileage on the island up to riders, but could do 20-25 mi.)
    Highlights: Schoolhouse Beach on Washington Island
  • Day 6 (Sat. Sept. 17) - Rowleys Bay back to Sturgeon Bay, 41 miles
    Highlights: Egg Harbor + we take Bay Shore Drive along the shore of Green Bay back to Sturgeon Bay.
    Drive back home to Iowa!
