The positions of President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary are ELECTED positions.
The APPOINTED positions on the BIC Executive Committee with VOTING RIGHTS are the RAGBRAI Director, Membership Director, Touring Director, Safety/Education/Advocacy Director, and Webmaster/Communications Director. Other appointed positions are the Tuesday Morning Ride Coordinator, Wednesday Night Social Ride Coordinator, Ride Host Coordinator, Thursday Night Leisure Ride Coordinator, Courage Ride representatives, and Publicist.
Members of the Executive Board/Executive Committee are charged with the general operations of the club. They volunteer their time, talents, and energy so that BIC is an important part of bicycling for you and the community.
The BIC Board expects BIC members to ride responsibly and predictably, and depends on members to support the club's mission, policies, and activities. If a BIC member is interested in a position on the BIC Executive board/committee, please contact the BIC President or any board member! We encourage BIC members to become involved in their club and bicycling activities and events on a local, state, and national level.
The Executive Board meets at 6:30 pm on the third Tuesday of each month (except for July and December when no Board meetings are held) at various sites. If you would like to attend a board meeting, please contact one of our board members to find out where the next monthly meeting will be held or check the BIC online calendar. Members are welcome to attend board meetings.
