BICYCLISTS OF IOWA CITY BIKE SHOP HOP

AN OPTIONAL START LOCATION will be Briar Ridge Bikes in Solon. You can sign the ride sheet and get a punch card from this location, too. Starting in Solon ay 9:30 will make the the Bike Shop Hop a TOTAL OF 19.5 MILES, instead of 39 miles.
Bicyclists of Iowa City Bike Shop Hop will also start at Iowa City Big Grove at 8:00 AM on Sunday, September 19, 2021. From there we bike to Solon and visit Briar Ridge Bikes, then on to North Liberty, Sugar Bottom Bikes, then to Iowa City stopping at Geoff's Bike and Ski, World of Bikes, and the Bike Library. Iowa City Big Grove is our final destination. This is a progressive bike ride visiting all five bike shops. The biking route is about 39 miles long. You may choose to ride your bike or drive. Please adhere to the schedule if you drive. The Broken Spoke will not be participating.
Those stopping at all shops will be eligible for five $50.00 bike shop certificates from the shops and a free pint of beer from I.C. Big Grove. Punch cards will be handed out at Big Grove Iowa City at the start of the ride. The drawings for the certificates will be at the end of the ride at Big Grove.
The shops will be sharing a 15 minute informative presentation about new equipment, trends in the biking world, shop events, and offers. Be sure to attend the presentations and get your card punched at each location.

Please arrive at least 15 minutes early at Big Grove route start to sign in and get your punch cards. THERE WILL NOT BE A MAP FOR THIS RIDE.

8:00 am-----Leave I.C. Big Grove-12255 Gilbert St., Iowa City and bike to Briar Ridge Bikes- 120 W. Main St. Solon (19 miles--1 hour 40 minutes)
9:30-9:40 am-----Arrive Briar Ridge
10:10 am----Depart Briar Ridge and bike to Sugar Bottom- 325 N. Dubuque St. North Liberty (8.2 miles--45 minutes)
10:45 am-----Arrive Sugar Bottom
11:15 am-----Depart Sugar Bottom and bike to Geoff's- 816 S. Gilbert St. Iowa City (11 miles--1 hour)
12:15 am-----Arrive Geoff's
12:45 am-----Depart Geoff's and bike to World of Bikes- 723 S. Gilbert St. Iowa City, (walk across the street---15 minutes)
1:00 am------Arrive World of Bikes
1:30 am------Depart World of Bikes and bike to The Bike Library- 1222 S. Gilbert Court, Iowa City (.5 miles--15 minutes)
1:45 am------Arrive Bike Library
2:15 am------Depart Bike Library and bike to Iowa City Big Grove for lunch, free beer, and a drawing for the Gift certificates (.3 miles---15 minutes)
Special sales on products and/or services will be available for purchase only on Sunday, September 19th. Be sure to ask about the specials. If you need more time at the shop to complete a purchase discuss this option with the shop owned/manager.
If it rains the Bike Shop Hop is still happening. Wear your rain gear or drive the route. Please watch your timing if you drive and adhere to the schedule so the shops are ready and you get in on their presentations.
