Wednesday Night Social Ride - Clockwise on North Liberty Sugar Bottom Loop

Sugar Bottom Loop—Clockwise

Meet at the gazebo in Penn Meadows Park on Dubuque Street in North Liberty for  another run at this breathtaking, scenic, and strenuous route. However, since we are still in the early part of the season, let's do this one clockwise. It seems the hills are not so severe when we take the loop this way.

From Penn Meadows Park, head north toward the new trail along Mehaffey Bridge Road. At Sugar Bottom Road, turn left and head to Newport Road, Prairie du Chien Road, and West Overlook Road. At Dubuque Street, turn left and head south to Oakdale Boulevard, then west to the Oakdale campus, and then back north to North Liberty on the North Ridge Trail, which parallels Highway 965. In other words, we
loop the entire Coralville Reservoir, make a side trip to Oakdale, and head back to North Liberty for riders' choice of a restaurant for dinner.

Ride Length:  21.9 miles
