Relatively flat ride to start our season. Meet at Penn Meadows Park for a tour of North Liberty, Oakdale, Coralville, and back to the park.

Tiffin 24 mile loop, mixed hills and flats. Ride into Tiffin.
Starting point is Carl & Ernie's
Another relatively flat ride for the early part of our biking season: A loop down south of Iowa City.Meet at Carl and Ernie’s (next to Fin and Feather at the intersection of Hwy 1 and Hwy 6). Ride south on Riverside to McCollister Blvd., cut over to Sand Road, and continue south to Hwy 22. Return on Oakcrest Hill Road to S. Riverside Dr. and back to Carl and Ernie’s for dinner. About 25 miles.

Start at Hills Elementary School
Meet at Hills Elementary School, just east of the 4-way stop. We ride east out of Hills, then south and east toward Lone Tree. It‘s a very pleasurable ride—relatively no hills, a couple of great vistas once we get south of Highway 22, and that nice wide paved shoulder the last four or five miles on a gentle downhill slope back to Hills. Dinner at Hwy 218 Bar and Grill in Hills (hey, the Tex-Mex restaurants will be super busy). About 27 miles.
A loop through the rolling hills of Amish country--Sharon Center and Frytown, then back to Hills.
Riverfront Crossing Park
Meet in parking lot at south end off Clinton St.
Parking lot near IHOP in Coralville
A loop starting at IHOP in Coralville, going to the south, then west, then through Tiffin and North Liberty, and back. About 24 miles.
It‘s the Sugar Bottom Loop, starting out from Penn Meadows Park in North Liberty, but this time we ride it clockwise.
Enjoy the scenic West Branch Loop and Cedar River Valley, and give yourself a workout.
One way to explore wide swaths of growing Johnson County.
A few hills, a lot of rural scenery. A two-dam good ride.
We get to try out some of that new trail between Solon and Ely, we sweep into the Cedar River Valley, and then enjoy one of the fine establishments in Solon afterward.
Waterworks Prairie Park
(Parking lot directly south of Iowa River, off North Dubuque Street)
Another Sugar Bottom Loop workout. Tonight, we ride the loop counterclockwise.

City Park in West Branch
We try to do this ride twice a season before RAGBRAI. Enjoy sweeping vistas of the Cedar River Valley and a fun restaurant in West Branch afterward.

For those not riding RAGBRAI this week: Let‘s do something without so many hills. Well, maybe just a couple. Meet at Back Berner Sports Bar in Tiffin. (The place used to be called Throttle Down Sports Bar.) We ride to North Liberty, and then north on rustic Scales Bend Road to Bobbers Bar and Grill on the Coralville Reservoir. Stop and stare at the water for a while, then retrace for return. A great late summer ride. About 22 miles.

The annual Courage Ride Fundraiser starts out from Short‘s, where we go afterward for burgers, to support the Courage Ride.

Start at Quinton‘s in Coralville, head up to Bobbers Grill out on Scales Bend Road north of North Liberty, and head back.

Up to North Liberty and back, on safe streets, because it‘s starting to get dark on these rides.

Mondo's ReUnion Brewery & Restaurant
Our penultimate Wednesday Night Ride of the season. Keeping in mind that it gets dark early, PLEASE BRiNG LIGHTS. We‘re sticking to safe routes, circling Iowa City: Start at Mondo‘s ReUnion Brewery, head east to Iowa River Power, cross the river, ride through Peninsula Neighborhood to the passage under I-80, head through Waterworks Park to Linder Road, head right on Prairie du Chien Road to North Dodge, then take Scott Boulevard to Terry Trueblood Park, and then loop back along the trails to Mondo‘s. It‘s a 21-mile tour. Dinner afterward, where else? Mondo‘s ReUnion. Celebrate the waning daylight of September.
It‘s starting to get dark out by the end of our ride, so we go a little shorter tonight and try to stay on trails rather than streets.
