22.1 miles, 671 feet of climb. Route includes part of Clear Creek Trail, parts of which may be closed in April 2024 due to construction. We will follow any clearly marked detours.
(1) Route includes a few miles on the paved shoulder of U.S.6, which may have gravel or debris, especially at intersections. (2) This route is basically flat except for the park, where there are some steep descents and the possibility of some loose gravel, so control your speed. Feel free to ride the relatively level gravel path around the lake in addition to or in lieu of the mapped trip around the park‘s perimeter road.

From Bike Library, head south to McCollister, west to Riverside Drive, south on Oak Crest Hill Road all the way to Highway 22. Regroup before turning left, and regroup again after reaching Sand Road. Ride through Terry Trueblood Recreation Area to Iowa River Corridor Trail and Highway 6 Trail and return to Iowa City Bike Library.
